TAKI is an undergraduate capstone project in active development, offered without charge to a small number of participating schools. It is not a commercial product and carries no service guarantee. Read the section on availability before relying on it.
Who may use TAKI
TAKI is for teachers and administrators at schools taking part in the pilot. Accounts are created by the individual who will use them. Students and guardians do not have accounts; guardians receive messages but do not sign in.
Your account
- One account belongs to one person. Do not share an account or its password with anyone, including a colleague.
- Pilot phones may be shared between teachers. Sign out when you hand the device over — signing out erases all TAKI data on it.
- Tell the project team promptly if you believe someone else has used your account.
Acceptable use
By using TAKI you agree that you will:
- enter records only for students you are authorised by your school to record;
- enter information you believe to be accurate, and correct it when you learn it is not;
- record a guardian's contact details only where that guardian has agreed to be contacted, and record the consent honestly;
- not attempt to reach records belonging to another teacher or another school; and
- not export or share student information except as your school's own policies allow.
These records concern minors. Access is enforced by the system, but the obligation to handle them carefully is yours as well.
Who owns the records
Student records entered into TAKI belong to the school that entered them, not to the project team. The team does not use them for any purpose other than operating the system for that school — no research, no publication, no sale, and no training of any machine-learning model.
Anonymous, aggregate observations about how the software performed may be reported in the capstone documentation. No student, guardian or teacher will be identifiable in it.
Availability, and what could go wrong
TAKI runs on free service tiers. There is no uptime commitment, no support window, and no guarantee that a feature will keep working or continue to exist.
- The service may be unavailable without notice, and messages to guardians may be delayed or fail to send.
- Records may be lost through a defect. TAKI takes a nightly backup, but a backup is not a promise.
- Keep whatever official record your school requires. During the pilot, treat TAKI as a convenience alongside your existing records, not as a replacement for them.
The software is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the project team is not liable for loss arising from its use.
Ending use
You may stop using TAKI at any time and ask for your account to be closed. A school may withdraw from the pilot at any time and ask that its records be exported and erased. The project team may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms, or to protect student information.
Privacy
What TAKI collects, where it is stored, and the rights available under RA 10173 are set out in the Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
